Get the most out of your wet cutting tile blades by keeping them sharp. Because wet tile blades don’t really cut tiles, they grind through tiles with exposed faceted diamonds that grind away at the tiles surface, the diamonds can become rounded and dull. These dull diamonds must be removed to expose the sharp diamonds underneath. Ideally, when you have a perfect match of blade to material, these dull diamonds will come loose during cutting and keep the blade sharp and cutting like new. However if you’re cutting harder materials with a blade designed for softer substances, these diamonds will not come loose and your blade will become dull and require sharpening.
Sharpening your wet cutting tile blades is easy. Simply cut an abrasive material like concrete block, soft brick, or a grinding stone (available in our store) several times. This will loosen and remove the dull diamonds and expose the sharper diamonds that are beneath them, brining your wet cutting diamond tile blade back to its like new condition. Remember, you are wearing away the outer edge of the diamond blade, this wont happen in one cut, if it did you would not be happy with the life of your blade. The top quality wet cutting diamond blades that we carry can be sharpened many times before they actually wear out and need to be replaced.
